If you happen to be around Canggu and need a good sunset spot, then this beach is for you!


  • Fee: Only pay park Rp 2000 for motorcycle, Rp 5000 for car
  • Location: In Canggu, in between Tanah Lot and Seseh Beach
  • Sign: Write “Cemagi Beach” in Maps, there will be a rock sign in the entry of this beach



Imagine a Bali where the only sounds are the waves and the amazing golden sunset. While Canggu pulses with energy, just a short drive away, Cemagi Beach offers a raw, authentic slice of Bali, a world away from the neon glow. Cemagi is generally less crowded than other popular Bali beaches, offering a more peaceful experience.


What to Expect?

Cemagi Beach is renowned for its breathtaking sunset views. The westward orientation provides spectacular displays of color as the sun dips below the horizon, often silhouetting the rocks and temple. Be aware that currents can be strong, making it less suitable for swimming in some areas. It's often more popular for walks and enjoying the scenery than for a dip.

Hence, this beach is a perfect beach for peaceful walks, enjoying the sound of the waves, and simply unwinding away from the crowds. Local fishing is common, and visitors can try their hand at fishing for species like grouper or lobster.

While not as abundant as Canggu, you'll find local cafes and warungs along the beach or nearby offering food and drinks, especially during sunset.


How to get there

While still relatively untouched, Cemagi is gaining recognition, leading to some development (villas, cafes) but generally maintaining its quiet, family-friendly character. Hence you can easily find this beach by using maps, It’s easily can be accessed from the Canggu’s main road, the roads to the beach are generally good, making it easy to access by scooter or car. 



So, if your Bali itinerary calls for an escape from the ordinary, consider venturing to Cemagi. Whether you’re chasing a legendary sunset, exploring ancient temples, or simply seeking solace by the crashing waves, this unique black sand haven promises an experience that lingers long after you’ve left its shores. It’s a testament to Bali’s diverse charm, waiting to be discovered.
